Lola's Pack is a Non-Profit Organization with the Mission to Create Shelters that Provide Medical Care, Regulate Overpopulation &Train Four Legged Homeless Animals in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic with the Final Objective of Finding Adoptive Families for the Little Furry Ones.
Two basic factors are responsible for the uncontrolled growth of the population of dogs in our country.
First are the poor and middle class families who buy a dog as a pet, regardless of what it entails, have an animal of this kind; food, veterinary checkups and place to be. After a while they realize the responsibilities of having to man's best friend, both in food and stay, choose to throw it in the street. If female, and stop, their dogs run fortunate to live or die their first hours in a cardboard box beside a dumpster.
The second factor affecting the proliferation of stray dogs, is because there is no control of reproduction, either by spaying or vaccination of the female (gestation in hard bitches from 57 to 63 days and they can give birth to puppies 3-9) from the health authorities. If we add hundreds of bitches giving birth a year, we would accounts of the problems we face.
Help Us in Making The Society and it's Contributors Aware of the Law 248-12, Who Protect Those Can't Protect Themselves.
Our Main Objective is to Build a Shelter with enough capacity to provide these animals with the foster home and medical care they need. in 2006 there were reported more than 90,000 homeless dogs in the Capital alone. Please Help us Make this Dream Come true, and make Society aware that all living creatures deserve respect for their lives.
Thanks for Your Cooperation

It's Admirable to Have members in our Society like Ivelisse Leonor de Porcella, Founder of PADELA, non-profit and Shelter in Sto. Dgo., Dominican Republic

The video above promotes a private non-profit organization in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. This Video is narrated in Spanish, but translated below. I am just humble by the dedication of this great lady Leonor Porcela, who is the founder of PADELA. She has been able with little resources and great dedication to help some homeless animals, and develop some consciousness to protect animals in our society. The Homeless Dogs in Dominican Republic are known as the " Biralata " or " Realengo " Dogs. These misfortune animals are always around restaurants, butcher's shops, beaches...any place they might think they could get some food. It is a Foot-print of the big and small cities in Dominican Republic, and a problem that it is just simple ignored by the society and the government. "A female dog could get pregnant three times in a year, and she could have around eight puppies for each pregnancy. So if we add it up in eight years, we are

Envenenan al Menos 19 Perros y 6 Gatos en la Feria Ganadera - Poisoned at least 19 Dogs and 6 Cats in the Livestock Show

20 FEB 2016, 1:57 PM  | DIARIO LIBRE SANTO DOMINGO.
