German-Shepperd Puppy Diagnosed with a Double Hip Dysplasia

Emely Reyes has an 11-month-old German Shepard, named Sheppy. Despite his early age, he was recently diagnosed with a severe hip dysplasia on both sides, with muscle atrophy, and aggressive degenerative joint disease.
Emely just got the terrible diagnosis from his vet a couple days ago (on April 13, 2017). Sheppy’s one year old birthday is a few days away on Monday, April 17.
Sheppy currently limps when he walks, and has a very hard time getting up and down stairs as well as laying down. I had the chance to visit him, and I was able to feel his pain just by looking at him. Sheppy's condition broke my heart. Despite the fact that Emely is giving him some pain relieving and anti-inflammatory medications as his vet prescribed, you can notice in Sheppy's eyes he is in pain, and he is not well.
The vet suggested that Sheppy needs a double hip replacement surgery as soon as possible due to the severity of his case. He referred Emely to apparently the only two Specialty Care Clinics in NYC. http://www.amcny.org/orthopedics and https://bluepearlvet.com/
The average cost of this surgery in NYC in just one side of the hip can cost up to $6000+ not including the evaluation fees and cost of the periodic x-rays that follow, which are hundreds of dollars. There is no way either Sheppy could be accepted to any dog insurance now, because he has been already diagnosed. And this surgery is something it can't wait, and it needs to happen as soon as possible.
When Emely realized this would cost her a fortune, her headache just got bigger and more painful.Emely Is a 20-year-old college student, majoring in psychology. Holding summer jobs, that don’t really pay that much...And let’s not forget about her college student loan debt.
I can understand her frustation trying to figure out how she will make this happen; even if She saves everything She makes from her summer jobs and her job at the school, She wouldn’t be able to afford the cost of this surgery.

That’s why She has created a FUND. She is hoping to RAISE $12,000 to get Sheppy the double hip replacement that he so desperately needs. She only has a couple months to get this surgery before his back legs collapse completely.

If you have ever have felt the pain of any pet just by looking at him or her, you will know what I am talking about.

LETS HELP RAISE THE SURGERY FUNDS

Emely is in a very difficult situation, and her main goal is to be able to collect funds to cover for Sheppy’s hip replacement surgery.

Sheppy & Emely would appreciate all the help They could get.

It's Admirable to Have members in our Society like Ivelisse Leonor de Porcella, Founder of PADELA, non-profit and Shelter in Sto. Dgo., Dominican Republic

The video above promotes a private non-profit organization in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. This Video is narrated in Spanish, but translated below. I am just humble by the dedication of this great lady Leonor Porcela, who is the founder of PADELA. She has been able with little resources and great dedication to help some homeless animals, and develop some consciousness to protect animals in our society. The Homeless Dogs in Dominican Republic are known as the " Biralata " or " Realengo " Dogs. These misfortune animals are always around restaurants, butcher's shops, beaches...any place they might think they could get some food. It is a Foot-print of the big and small cities in Dominican Republic, and a problem that it is just simple ignored by the society and the government. "A female dog could get pregnant three times in a year, and she could have around eight puppies for each pregnancy. So if we add it up in eight years, we are

Envenenan al Menos 19 Perros y 6 Gatos en la Feria Ganadera - Poisoned at least 19 Dogs and 6 Cats in the Livestock Show

20 FEB 2016, 1:57 PM  | DIARIO LIBRE SANTO DOMINGO.
